Alright, in post number two, I was thinking we'd talk about disgruntled employees and customer service hotlines. Sound good? Ok! Let's get into it!
So today my friend and I went to Dairy Queen because we were in the mood for some ice cream. Obviously. We get to the Dairy Queen and there's a short line. Ok, so this sounds like how it is in every Dairy Queen in the country. We get to the counter to place our orders and the lady looks at us with this really burnt out look on her face and is all "-sigh- Can I take your order?" I look at her and I think to myself "Wow. That lady just ruined my entire taste for this wonderful treat of ice and cream." Seriously, when I want some ice cream, I expect to be greeted with a corny smile that really makes me passionate to eat a blizzard! If I walk in and it looks like my presence has significantly darkened your day, am I really going to want to purchase some dairy delights from your not-so-wonderful Dairy Queen? I don't think so. Thanks for ruining my whole ice cream eating experience.
How about those long, unnecessary phone calls where you're on hold for about 20 minutes, and then you either are left with some incredibly unhelpful information and a sense of regret, or you get cut off completely. It's like, ok, thanks for making me waste some of my day to find out absolutely nothing. If I wanted to feel useless, I would have sat and listened to my grandpa talk about the good ol' days when burgers were 15 cents. And then you feel like you've been lied to because while you're on the phone, that little recording comes on and says something like "You're call is important to us. Please stay on the line. Your call will be answered in the order it was received." When you get disconnected, it's like "Thanks. You told me I was important and now you disconnect me. That makes me feel REALLY good about myself. I think I'm just gonna sit in my emo corner because apparently my call wasn't important enough." Like, come on, seriously? I haven't sat here on the phone for 20 minutes just to be told that I'm not important. Thanks a lot, stupid customer service answering service.
So that is this weeks post! If you have any requests for topics to be discussed, don't be afraid to e-mail me at brilliant2347@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your Dairy Queen experience. Hopefully next time, you get a scary hyper chick/guy who makes you want to bathe in ice cream. ;D
